Salt Lake City police made three arrests and recovered two stolen cars in separate incidents.

At 10:37 a.m. Tuesday, officers driving past a home near 100 South and 900 West spotted a parked vehicle that, upon further checking, turned up as having been reported stolen.

When two male suspects got into the car and began to drive away, police pulled them over. Both suspects, ages 25 and 24, were subsequently booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of auto theft. The 25-year-old also was wanted on a federal firearms-related warrant.

About an hour later, police were dispatched to 2100 South and 1300 East when an auto theft victim spotted his stolen car driving in the area.

The vehicle eventually was located at Fairmont Park and police arrested its 46-year-old driver as he got out of the car.

The man was booked into jail on suspicion of auto theft; he also was wanted on a federal warrant for fraud.
