An Ohio woman has died from injuries she suffered last week in a motorcycle crash in Midvale.

Amanda Ginther, 28, was with a 30-year-old man on a motorcycle traveling east on Ft. Union Boulevard about 11 p.m. July 8 near 900 East, Unified Police officials have said. A Toyota van turned left in front of the motorcycle, which collided with the van.

Neither Ginther nor the other rider was wearing a helmet, police have said. Both were critically injured; Ginther died Friday at a hospital.

According to an obituary in the Columbus, Ohio Dispatch, Ginther moved to Salt Lake City in December. She was studying exercise science to become certified as a yoga instructor.

The crash remains under investigation. Police say speed is not believed to have been a factor.
