Utahns in need of health screenings and other medical services can receive care free of charge Friday and Saturday at the Junior League of Salt Lake City's annual health fair.
The 22nd annual CARE fair — or Community Assistance Resource Event — will be held at the Horizonte Training and Instruction Center, at 1234 South Main Street in Salt Lake City, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday.
It will continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Services include physical and dental exams, women's health and breast exams, cervical cancer screenings, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, mental health sessions, diabetes and cholesterol screenings, vision and hearing tests and immunizations, among others.
Free car seats and bike helmets also will be given away while they last, and free childcare will be provided.
No proof of insurance is needed to receive care. The clinic is open to the public and appointments are not required.
The fair served 3,178 clients in 2013. About 84 percent of the fair's participants were uninsured and 88 percent earned less than $30,000.
