Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes on Thursday announced an office reorganization that includes criminal and civil departments, as well as a new appellate department.
Under the new structure, the departments will be led by Chief Criminal Deputy Spencer Austin, Chief Civil Deputy Brian Tarbet and Chief Appellate Deputy Bridget Romano. Romano also has the position of solicitor general, and Laura Dupaix will serve as deputy solicitor general.
Parker Douglas will continue to serve as chief of staff — providing support on policy, administration and case management — and will take the role of federal solicitor. Missy Larsen will continue to serve as chief communications officer.
Interviews will be held over the next month for section director positions within the departments, according to a written release.
In the release, Reyes thanked leaders who are "transitioning out of their administrative roles."
"These administrative changes should not be viewed as negative actions as we are transitioning some of the best leaders we have had in this office," Reyes said.
"Even in the case of the strongest leaders, there is a time to allow new leadership to develop for the long term health and success of an organization."
The changes will take effect Monday.
