Thermo King Intermountain has completed a new 44,000-square-foot West Valley City facility, which doubles its service space and is expected to lead to the addition of 10 to 15 new jobs this year.

A ribbon-cutting at the facility, 5370 W. 2424 South, is slated for noon Thursday. Rita's Italian Ice will be there to show off its new truck, which was designed and built by Thermo King.

The business — which services and sells parts for temperature control systems for truck bodies, trailers, buses, shipboard containers and rail cars — relocated from Salt Lake City and now has 68 employees. The additional jobs would be in sales and service.

The new location, in the Warner Truck Center, features 12 service bays and drop yard options. Zwick Construction was the primary contractor for the project.

Thermo King made the move with a little help: The West Valley City Redevelopment Agency gave it $125,000 to offset some of its costs.
