The annual two day Thai-Lao New Year celebration includes authentic food and music, and the Miss Songkran beauty contest. It continues Sunday at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, and is open to the public.

Sometimes there are confrontations between security guards and laborers who at times almost ring the parking lot near the Home Depot. Customers who park too close to laborers may find themselves swarmed. Contractors can negotiate with the waiting men and fill trucks with workers in under 10 seconds.
