Vancouver, British Columbia • Kenny Miller scored on a penalty kick in the 58th minute, leading the unbeaten Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.

Jordan Harvey had Vancouver's first goal in the 14th minute in front of a sellout crowd of 21,000 at B.C. Place Stadium.

Miller rolled his spot kick into the right corner of the net, lifting the Whitecaps to a 2-0 lead. Ricardo Clark responded for Houston in the 75th minute, but that was all the scoring for the Dynamo (2-1-0).

Miller had to re-take his crucial kick because teammate Darren Mattocks was still in the 18-yard box when he put the ball into the net. The penalty kick was awarded after Houston defender Kofi Sarkodie was called for a hand ball in the box in the 56th minute.

Sporting Kansas City 3, Rapids 2 • In Commerce City, Colo., Dom Dovale scored in stoppage time to help Sporting Kansas City rally for the win.

Dovale was a late-game substitution for Sporting Kansas City (2-1-1). Benny Feilhaber tied the game in the 79th minute.

Dovale used a couple strides to get close to the goal on the left side and then ripped a shot over the outstretched hands of Colorado goalkeeper John Berner and into the upper left corner.

Graham Zusi scored and Sal Zizzo added two assists for the defending MLS Cup champions.

Vincente Sanchez had two goals for Colorado (1-1-1), both on penalty kicks.

Fire 2, D.C. United 2 • In Washington, Quincy Amarikwa's goal in the 82nd minute lifted the Fire into a soggy draw against D.C. United.

Playing through a steady rain at RFK Stadium, United (0-2-1) extended its club-record winless streak in league play to 15 games dating to the 2013 season. It's the fifth-longest streak in MLS history.
