Members of the Salt Lake Turkish community on Sunday commemorated last week's death of a 15-year-old boy in Turkey.

Berkin Elvan was buying bread for his family when he was struck by a tear gas capsule shot by Turkish police in 2013 during anti-government protests; he died after months in a coma.

Turkish Utahns honored the boy by placing flowers at the Christmas Box Angel in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
