Just like every other bit of primetime Olympic coverage during the Sochi Games, NBC's telecast of the opening ceremony is tape-delayed. Which it has to be, given that there's a nine- to 12-hour time difference between Sochi and the continental U.S.
However, while NBC will live stream all the athletic events from Sochi on NBCOlympics.com, there will be no live streaming of the opening ceremony. If you want to see it, you've got to watch (or record) the NBC coverage.
NBC PRIMETIME • 6:30-10:30 p.m., Ch. 5: Opening ceremony will feature the Parade of Nations, a production based around a trip through Russian history and the lighting of the Olympic torch.
NBC LATE NIGHT • 12:05 a.m.-4 a.m., Ch. 5: Repeat of primetime
NBCSN • 1 a.m.-3:30 a.m. (early Saturday): women's hockey, USA vs. Finland (live)
• 3:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m. (early Saturday): Women's cross-country skiing/skiathlon final; men's speed skating/5000m final (both live)
