Derrick Favors' hip is hurting.

Over the last couple of weeks, so are Trey Burke's stats.

The Utah Jazz are 10 days away from the All-Star break, and their coach says the young team is feeling the growing pains of increased roles.

"It's everybody, young guys and guys playing more minutes," said Jazz coach Ty Corbin. "I remember going from being a guy who played off the bench to a starter. It's just different. You fight, you get in the back-to-backs, three games in four nights. I can remember the ball coming off the rim and seeing the rebound [and saying], 'I got it!' And I just couldn't get off the floor."

Gordon Hayward has already topped 1,500 minutes and is well on his way to eclipsing the 2,100 he played all of last season. Favors is 350 minutes off his 2012-13 total.

Third-year players Enes Kanter and Alec Burks, meanwhile, have already logged career-highs in minutes.

After Monday, the Jazz have four more games until the break and a chance to get rested.

"It's a growing process," Corbin said. "They have to understand how to fight their way through it."

Taking it in

Seattle-area native Marvin Williams recalls some tough times as a Seahawks fan.

"My dad took me to the old Kingdome. They were getting crushed by somebody — losing bad," the Jazz forward said. "He made me leave early and they actually came back and won. I still give him stuff about that to this day, actually."

On Sunday, however, Williams got to watch his team win it all.

"I  thought it would be a little better game than it was," he said of the Super Bowl. "But I'm pretty excited about it."

D-League honor

Jazz forward Malcolm Thomas has been named a D-League All-Star after averaging 15 points, 9 rebounds and two blocks a game during his stint with the Austin Toros. The 6-foot-9 forward, who was claimed by the Jazz late last month, would have to be re-assigned to the D-League again if he's to play in the Feb. 15 game in New Orleans.

Thomas is the fifth player in Jazz history selected a D-League All-Star . He joins Lou Amundson (2007), Morris Almond and Kyrylo Fesenko (2008), and Sundiata Gaines (2010). Neither Amundson nor Gaines played in the game after being called up by Utah.
