Las Vegas • Two-time world saddle bronc champion Cody Wright finally got untracked at the $6.25 million Wrangler National Finals Rodeo on Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Wright, who is from Milford, Utah, posted a score of 85.5 points to tie his brother, Jake, for second place in the fifth round of the NFR. They each earned $12,920.

For Cody Wright, it was only the second time in five rounds that he placed among the top six.

Although he remains first in the overall world championship standings, he is 15th in the NFR average race. That could come back to haunt him after Saturday night's 10th and final round.

For Jake Wright, his tie for second place continued a hot streak during the National Finals. He won the two previous rounds, has now earned $50,178 at the NFR and is second in the world standings behind his brother, Cody.

In other events, Caleb Bennett of Morgan, Utah, scored an 86 and finished third in bareback. His finish was worth $11,117 and enabled Bennett to remain third in the NFR average race.

Kaycee Feild of Spanish Fork finished tied for fifth with a score of 84.5. He earned $3,906 as his quest for a third consecutive world championship continues.

Meanwhile, in bull riding, Steve Woolsey of Payson, Utah, failed to complete his eight-second ride.
