Portland, Ore. • Portland State rushed for 350 yards Saturday in a 45-24 win over the Weber State Wildcats, who lost their eighth straight game after winning the season opener.
Weber State freshman quarterback Austin Chipoletti had a season-high 331 yards passing; he threw two touchdown passes and ran for another.
In his season debut for the Wildcats, junior receiver Shaydon Kehano caught six passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. He had missed the first eight games with a knee injury suffered in fall camp.
D.J. Adams and Nate Tago each had two rushing touchdowns for Portland State.
"We wore down a little bit in the second half and gave up some big plays," Weber State coach Jody Sears said. "We were able to move the ball and make some plays but had too many turnovers at key times. We have to keep grinding, keep our heads up and keep working."
Senior Erik Walker had seven receptions for 79 yards to pass 1,000 career receiving yards.
The Wildcats return home to host Southern Utah next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Stewart Stadium.
