A baby was in critical condition Saturday evening after he was found in a ditch in Morgan that morning.

A relative realized the 1-year-old boy was missing and discovered him in an irrigation ditch that runs near the home on Stoddard Lane in Weber Canyon about 11:30 a.m. Although the ditch did not contain much water, the baby was unconscious when pulled out.

A helicopter flew the baby to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

It was unclear how long the baby had been missing, said Morgan County Sheriff's Deputy Tyler Grose. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Morgan Fire, an Ogden rescue unit and an AirMed helicopter responded to the scene.
