When the centenarians gathered at the 27th Annual Centenarians Day celebration were born, a loaf of bread cost 50 cents, income tax was just 1 percent and you could buy a car for $600. More than 100 Utahns have hit the century mark, and on Friday Gov. Gary Herbert, First Lady Jeanette Herbert and Lt. Gov. Greg Bell honored more than 40 during a luncheon at the Viridian Center in West Jordan.
