Warmer weather is on its way, but it won't stick around for long.

In coming days, Utah will see a brief reprieve from quickly cooling temperatures as the mercury climbs back to the high-70s and 80s, before dropping back down to the 50s and 40s by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Areas along the Wasatch Front were expected to see highs in the mid- to upper-60s Saturday, with southern winds picking up overnight.

Utah County and the Cache Valley may see some patchy fog overnight, but it should clear out by Sunday morning.

A freeze warning will remain in effect overnight in Park City, Heber City and Huntsville, according to the NWS. But these areas, too, will begin to thaw by Sunday.

The warmest day throughout the state is expected to be Monday.

The state will also remain mostly dry, with diminished chances of precipitation through Wednesday.

After that, a cold front will move into the area, said weather service forecaster Steve Rogowski, bringing with it wetter and colder temperatures with highs expected to dip back into the 50s, and even 40s in some parts of the state.

"There's a little bit of everything in there this week," he said. "Enjoy the warmth while you can."
