Kole Calhoun had a night to remember.

The Salt Lake Bees center fielder hit three home runs off Fresno starter Austin Feet to help the Bees (58-46) to a 5-4 win over the Grizzlies (47-57) on Tuesday in front of 14,016 fans at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

The win also moved the Bees into sole possession of first place in the Pacific Northern division, a game ahead of the Tacoma Rainiers.

Calhoun finished the game 4 for 4 with four RBIs and three runs scored just a night after going 0 for 5 with three strikeouts. He's the ninth player in franchise history to hit three home runs in a game.

"I've faced [Feet] a few times and he's got a really good changeup," Calhoun said after the game. "I was kind of thinking all day today that's what I was going to see. Two of the pitches that I hit out were changeups that I got up in the zone. That was my plan from the beginning."

Salt Lake left-hander Dustin Richardson (4-1) earned the win and Daniel Stange earned the save, while Fleet (0-3) took the loss. Richardson, who was acquired by the Angels organization on June 15, struck out eight Grizzlies while giving up four runs in 62⁄3 innings.

Richardson ran into trouble in the seventh and left with a 5-2 lead but the bases loaded. Fernando Cabrera came in and gave up a two run single — both runs were charged to Richardson — before escaping the inning with a one-run lead still intact.

Calhoun's big night started in the first inning with a two-run home run to the opposite field in left that drove in Andrew Romine, who had doubled to lead off the inning.

In the third inning, the left-handed-hitting Calhoun scorched a line drive over the fence in right field for a solo shot. His solo homer in his next at-bat in the fifth inning was a towering shot that just cleared the right field fence.

Salt Lake catcher Luke Carlin added a solo home run in the fourth, while Romine was 2 for 4.
