A woman received minor burns after a propane tank in her camper exploded in Logan Canyon on Friday night.

Loyal Clark, of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, said law enforcement officers from the U.S. Forest Service and Cache County were still trying to figure out what caused the explosion, which quickly turned into a small brush fire that damaged the camper and destroyed some all-terrain vehicles and the trailer that was carrying them.

According to Clark, the woman's camping companions took her to Logan Regional Hospital, where she was treated for minor burns on her hands and smoke inhalation.

Clark said the woman was among a group of people who had stopped around 8 p.m. at the Temple Fork trailhead on their way to some ATV trails some 12 miles up the canyon. She said the woman had opened the camper's door when the tank exploded. Firefighters from Cache County responded to the scene first and put out a small brush fire that grew to about one tenth of an acre before it was extinguished.

Since the woman was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle rather than an ambulance, officials did not immediately know the woman's condition Friday night.
