Four occupants of a pickup truck struck by a freight train Wednesday morning in Pleasant Grove escaped injury.

Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Aaron Hunt said the truck's driver is believed to have ignored flashing red lights at a rail crossing at 1300 West and State about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The train struck and heavily damaged the vehicle, knocking it off the tracks.

No injuries were reported to the truck's driver or passengers or to the train's crew.

Pleasant Grove police said the scene had been cleared by noon.
