The California A's went unbeaten over three days of softball, winning the Larry H. Miller Memorial Pioneer Days Fastpitch Tournament.

The Bakersfield team downed the Lacey (Wash.) A's 7-1 in Sunday's championship game at the Larry H. Miller Softball Complex.

Chad Norris of Salt Lake City's Page Brake was the tournament's leading hitter. His team won its first two games in pool play, but failed to reach the finals in Sunday's elimination rounds.

Salt Lake City's Granite Bakery and Wasatch Properties also competed in the eight-team Pioneer Days event, as a longtime tradition was restored after an 11-year absence.

Miller, the late Utah Jazz owner, was a devoted softball pitcher and team sponsor.
