A 3-year-old girl was flown to a hospital after she was found hanging from a rope in a Stansbury Park backyard Friday evening.

Tooele County sheriff's Sgt. Shandy Lewis said the girl's grandfather at 8 p.m. discovered her unconscious and hanging from a rope that had been tied to a playground set in the backyard. She had been hanging about five minutes.

Lewis said the hanging appeared accidental. The girl, who was visiting with her family from California, was reportedly playing with cousins, who had been going down a slide with a rope tied around their waists. When the girl was alone, she apparently put the rope around her neck and went down the slide, according to Lewis.

As she was being transported to the hospital, the girl regained consciousness and began crying and breathing, Lewis said. She was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City. As of 10 p.m. Friday, Lewis said the girl was talking and playing with toys.
