A Brigham City woman and Denver teenager died in separate weekend crashes on Utah interstates.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers said Faymarie Eames, 57, died Saturday night in Box Elder County. Eams drove a car onto northbound Interstate 15 from Elwood. When she reached an emergency turn-through, she tried to make a U turn.

Eames' vehicle was broadsided in the inside lane by a pickup traveling north, troopers said. She was pronounced dead at Bear River Valley Hospital. The driver of the pickup suffered arm injuries, troopers said.

Then on Sunday, 14-year-old Daisy Figueroa, of Denver, died in a crash near Green River, Utah. At 12:42 p.m., a sport-utility vehicle veered off Interstate 70 about 2 miles west of Green River. The driver over corrected and the SUV rolled off the interstate, ejecting the girl and 64-year-old Alicia Figueroa. The girl died and the woman was critically injured, said UHP Lt. Steve Winward. UHP is still investigating why the Pathfinder drifted.
