A body was found in a house after a fire in Willard early Thursday.

After putting out the 3 a.m. fire at 103 E. 100 North, firefighters searched the home and discovered the body of a male, said Willard Police Chief Nate Thompson.

The victim had not been identified as of midday Friday. An autopsy was conducted Friday morning, but results were pending, Thompson said.

Thompson would not comment on whether the victim appeared to be a child or an adult.

Detectives are treating the death as suspicious and are investigating the fire with the Utah State Fire Marshal's office, Thompson said.

Thompson would not comment on whether the fire appeared to be suspicious.
