The BYU men's golf hosts the 2013 PING Cougar Classic, beginning Friday at Riverside Country Club

The Cougars won last year's tournament, edging out Colorado State by five strokes. The opening two rounds (36 holes) will be played Friday with the third and final round Saturday. Tee times for both days begin 8 a.m.

BYU comes off a three-way tie for third place at the West Coast Conference Golf Championships.

No. 23 St. Mary's, who took home the WCC Championship, is in the tournament field as well as Southern Utah, Utah State and Weber State. The remaining four teams among the nine-team field come from the Mountain West Conference, including Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State and Wyoming.
