The Los Angeles Angels placed right-hander Jered Weaver on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, with a left non-displaced radial head fracture of the elbow and will be replaced by Salt Lake Bees pitcher Dane De La Rose.

Weaver was removed from Sunday's game with an initial diagnosis of a strained left elbow.

Weaver is expected to miss at least four weeks.

Weaver, 30, suffered the injury Sunday evening while avoiding a sixth-inning line drive off the bat of Mitch Moreland in Texas. Though the ball did not strike Weaver, he twisted his left elbow and arm in bracing his fall as he avoided the line drive.
