A runway at the Provo Airport was temporarily out of service Thursday afternoon after a small plane ran off the tarmac, leaving the lone pilot on board with only minor injuries.

Provo Fire Deputy Chief Steve Jolley said there was minimal damage to the plane as well. The incident was reported to emergency responders at about 2:40 p.m.

Jolley said Thursday afternoon that he wasn't sure whether the aircraft was taking off or landing at the airport.

No one else was on board.
