For the first time since it became part of the Pac-12, a Utah baseball player has been named Player of the Week. Ute freshman third baseman Dallas Carroll led the Utes to a 3-1 week, including a pair of victories against Stanford. He hit .412 in the week with two doubles, five RBI and a stolen base.

Carroll went 2-for-3 at the plate against Utah Valley on Tuesday, driving in the game-tying run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. On Friday against Stanford, he went 2 for 5 with a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning that cut into a four-run deficit. He scored the winning run against the Cardinal on Saturday after a leadoff single in the top of the 10th inning. In the rubber match on Sunday against Stanford, he went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs in Utah's 7-5 win.
