Park City leaders may vote later Thursday to make it illegal for skiers and snowboarders to resell their lift tickets within city limits.

Such sales would be class B misdemeanors, punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, according to a report in the Park Record.

According to the newspaper, ski resorts want to stop people from selling lift tickets for less than the price at the ticket window. There are similar laws in California and Colorado.

The Park City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Thursday in the Marsac Municipal Building, 445 Marsac Ave.
