1. Gonzaga (29-2)

Did not play all that well and still won in front of 20,000 at BYU, moved into No. 1 ranking in both polls for first time in school history.

2. N. Mexico (25-5)

Mountain West is as tough as it has ever been, but Lobos managed to clinch the regular-season title with two remaining games. Impressive.

3. Oregon (23-6)

Looked OK in 85-75 win over in-state rival to get on top of Pac-12 standings, but two tough road games this week.

4. Saint Mary’s (26-5)

Hit hard by NCAA sanctions on Friday, but still had enough moxie to scratch past Santa Clara on Saturday at McKeon Pavilion.

5. UCLA (22-7)

Freshman Shabazz Muhammad will turn pro after this season, Bruins acknowledged after 74-69 win over fading Arizona.

6. Arizona (23-6)

Lost at USC and UCLA, but still held on to its national ranking with one regular-season game left before conference tourney.

7. Colo. State (22-7)

Rams have lost three of their last four, but are holding on to second place in the wild Mountain West with games at Wyoming, Nevada remaining.

8. S. Diego St. (20-8)

Inching toward the NCAA Tournament bubble, but can get back on track with wins over Air Force, Boise State this week.

9. UNLV (22-7)

Rebels have won four straight, seem to be finding their groove in time for the conference tournament on their home floor,

10. California (20-9)

Might be the hottest team in the West outside of Gonzaga, could earn share of Pac-12 title if things fall right this week
