A southern Utah woman was in critical condition after a rollover accident on Interstate 15 north of St. George.

The 25-year-old woman was driving south on I-15 about 4:30 p.m. Sunday when she lost control of her Honda Accord and rolled, the Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release. The woman, who was not identified but is from the St. George area, was ejected from the vehicle.

She was not wearing a seat belt, UHP said. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.

A medical helicopter flew the woman to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.

The accident remained under investigation Sunday evening. Investigators believe the car rolled because the woman overcorrected, UHP said.

The accident happened 28 miles north of the Utah state line. The wreck closed I-15 for about 45 minutes to allow for an initial investigation and the helicopter transport.
