Debris on the roadway was being blamed for a multi-vehicle crash late Wednesday morning on Interstate 15 in the south Salt Lake Valley.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said a vehicle hauling a trailer apparently lost a table, which broke up in the southbound lanes near 5300 South at 11:09 a.m.

As cars swerved to miss the debris, several of them crashed into each other. UHP said that in all, four vehicles sustained damage — including the car hauling the trailer, which ended up rolling. All southbound lanes but one were closed down initially.

For all that, however, only one person was hurt, and that injury was a minor one and the person was treated at the scene.

By 12:45 p.m., UHP had restored traffic flow to all lanes.
