One year ago, what was supposed to be Super Bowl Sunday for millions of Americans became a nightmare for people in Utah and Washington who had been following the Susan Powell disappearance.

Her sons, Charlie, 7, and Braden Powell, 5, were murdered by the only person suspected in her disappearance — her husband Josh Powell. Josh Powell then killed himself.

Ceremonies will be held Tuesday in Puyallup, Wash., and West Valley City to remember the anniversary. Here are some photos of Charlie and Braden and the aftermath of the deaths.
