Provo boy who collapsed at soccer game dies

An 11-year-old boy who collapsed during an indoor soccer game in Provo last week has died.

Primary Children's Medical Center spokesman Dane DeHart said that Alan Zapata died Tuesday night after being in a coma for five days.

KUTV 2 News reports that according to a Facebook page, the 11-year-old boy suffered a cardiac arrest Jan. 3 and was flown to Primary Children's. He was in the intensive care unit in critical condition until he was taken off life support.
