GRADE: A-

DVD • Sarah Palin and her partisans didn't like the HBO movie "Game Change." Which wasn't exactly a surprise, given that it depicts her as an overmatched and undereducated vice presidential candidate. But this is a very good TV movie, featuring a stunning performance by Julianne Moore as Palin — a performance that's more than an incredible imitation, but reveals real depth. And "Game Change" isn't a hatchet job on the GOP. John McCain (Ed Harris) and his campaign adviser, Steve Schmidt (Woody Harrelson), come off looking pretty good, although Palin doesn't. But there is a happy ending for viewers, as the former Alaska governor doesn't come within a heartbeat of the presidency.
