A stretch of Interstate 15 in Utah County was closed for about two hours Thursday after a truck hauling a trailer load of gravel tipped and rolled.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said a blown tire apparently caused the accident. The driver of the truck was not hurt in the 11:47 a.m. crash, but wreckage and gravel covered a section of University Parkway in Orem, resulting in closure of southbound and northbound lanes of I-15 beginning at the University Parkway off-ramp.

Traffic was diverted around the scene, off the freeway, until the southbound lanes were reopened. The northbound lanes remained until about 2 p.m.
