Utah wildfires: Crews contain two stubborn blazes

Both a stubborn Wasatch County wildfire and a grudgingly surrendering blaze in Utah County are now fully contained.
Crews declared full containment Wednesday night for the 244-acre Whiskey Wildfire, as crews closed lines around the flames that were first spotted in pinyon, juniper and oak southeast of Heber on Sunday.
The newly remapped 1,860-acre Red Ledges Wildfire, in Utah County, had been tamed considerably by cooler temperatures and high humidity from a thunderstorm system that moved into the state at mid-week, said Fire Information Officer Kim Osborn. By Thursday night, it too was fully contained.
About 275 firefighters, aided by water-bearing helicopters and fire-retardant-laden air tankers, worked to close fire lines and douse any flare-ups or remaining hot spots on Thursday.
The human-caused Red Ledges fire, has been burning about four miles northeast of Diamond Fork Campgrounds and on the west side of Diamond Fork Canyon since Sunday.
