Around 150 Utah National Guard soldiers will begin deployment to Afghanistan with a parade in their honor Tuesday afternoon in Price.

Soldiers from Springville, Price and Vernal in the 624th Engineer Company will be sent first to Fort Bliss near El Paso, Texas, for training, followed by a 10 month deployment to Afghanistan, Utah National Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Hank McIntire said. The soldiers will be focusing on constructing buildings around the country, McIntire said.

The parade will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday between 300 East and 300 West in Price.
