Crews on Sunday rescued a horse that fell through the basement window of a house in Herriman.
The horse, who goes by the name Himself, "somehow got wedged in the basement window well" of a home near 13600 South and 7300 West at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, said Unified Fire Authority Capt. Lee Ascarte.
The owner called Salt Lake County Animal Control officers for help getting Himself out, but the horse became spooked and kicked out the basement window.
"He subsequently went into the home," Ascarte said.
A heavy-rescue crew with UFA dug a trench to widen the window well and erected a "haul system" to extract Himself, Ascarte said. Himself, 26, was tranquilized and pulled out of the house, Ascarte said.
