Excessive self-confidence has its place in the rock and the hip-world world, and that arrogance can make Kanye West and others create great music.
But every once in a while, it's nice to hear someone accept that they have made some mistakes, and experience the emotion that makes most of us human: reget.
That's why I like the following song by Social Distortion, the band that is playing tonight and Saturday at The Depot. Even a tough guy like Mike Ness realizes that in his past, he has often been wrong. (In addition, according to recent set lists, the song should be performed tonight, if we are lucky.)
And since it is a weekend, here are two other Social D songs to last through Sunday. Social D is one of the few bands I was turned on to by my older sister, who begrudingly allowed me to tag along with her in rides to Camarillo High School. The album "Between Heaven and Hell" was on a constant rotation, and it served me well.
