Utah Muslims gathered Thursday at the Khadeeja Islamic Center in West Valley City to celebrate the end of their monthlong fast for Ramadan.

For 30 days, Muslims in the state and around the globe abstained from food and water from sunrise to sunset, gave alms to the poor, and read the entire Quran.

This year's record heat posed additional challenges to Utah Muslims during their daily fasts.
