Candlelight Vigil for Marriage Equality

The Logan branch of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will hold a candlelight vigil for marriage equality. The vigil is in response to the U.S. Supreme Court's upcoming hearings on two marriage-equality cases. All participants are asked to wear red. Boy Scout Troop Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

Boy Scout Troop 231, located in Kearns, will hold a fundraiser breakfast that includes pancakes, french toast, bacon, eggs, coffee or juice. Doughnuts or coffee: 75 cents.

Cathedral of the Madeleine Easter Week Services

The Cathedral of the Madeleine will begin Easter week services with Palm Sunday, March 24, at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m. (Spanish) and 6 p.m. On March 28, Holy Thursday, the Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:30 p.m. On March 29, Good Friday service will be at noon with the Cathedral Choir. The service will be repeated at 7 p.m. in Spanish. Saturday, March 30, will be the Easter Vigil at 9 p.m. On March 31, Easter Day services will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. (in Spanish).

Palm Sunday Vespers

Choral vespers will be sung by the Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Music of Francisco Guerrero, Francis Poulenc and Leonard Lechner will be performed.

Palm Sunday Concert

The First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir and Whitworth University Orchestra will perform sacred works by several composers, featuring Mendelssohn's cantata "Hear My Prayer" with soprano soloist Shana Hammett Osterloh.

Community Passover Seder

The Jewish Community Center will host a community seder on the second night of Passover. Rabbi Ilana Schwartzman of Congregation Kol Ami will retell of the story of the Exodus. Mount Tabor Lutheran Church will hold Holy Week services by starting with a Palm Sunday, March 24, service at 10:30 a.m. On March 28, the Maundy Thursday service with foot washing will be at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 29, there will be a noon service. On Easter, March 31, there will be an Easter breakfast and egg hunt at 9 a.m. and worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Easter Eggstravaganza

Christ United Methodist Church's Children's Ministries committee will sponsor an Easter egg hunt and brunch. Bring a basket for children to gather eggs in and a dish that will serve 10 to 12 people to share at the potluck.

Episcopal Church of the Resurrection Easter Week Services

Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will hold Holy Week services starting with Palm Sunday, March 24. There will be a Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. On March 28, Maundy Thursday, there will be a Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m. and a NightWatch at the Altar at 8:30 p.m. Good Friday, March 29, will feature a liturgy at noon and 7 p.m. On Holy Saturday, March 30, the Great Vigil of Easter will start at 7 p.m. On Easter, March 31, a Holy Eucharist will be held at 10 a.m.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold Palm Sunday services, March 24, at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. On March 28, Maundy Thursday worship will be at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 29, worship services will be held at noon and 7 p.m. On Easter, March 31, there will be sunrise service at 6:45 a.m., an 8:15 service and a 10:30 a.m. service.

Mount Olympus Presbyterian Church Easter Day services include a traditional service at 8:30 a.m. that features hymns, liturgy and a more classic worship presentation. An Easter breakfast will be served at 9:45 a.m. followed by a contemporary service at 11 a.m.

Mountain Vista United Methodist Easter Week Services

Mountain Vista United Methodist will hold Easter Week services March 24 through 31. On March 24, Palm Sunday, there will be cantata at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. with a youth pancake breakfast fundraiser all morning. The seder supper will be March 28 at 6:30 p.m. On Good Friday, March 29, there will be worship service at 7:30 p.m. and on Easter, March 31, there will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast. There will be worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., and an Easter egg hunt during Sunday School, 10 a.m.

St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral Holy Week Services

The St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral will begin Holy Week with Palm Sunday services at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. On Holy Monday, March 25, there will be a Holy Communion at 12:10 p.m. On March 26, Holy Tuesday, there will be an 11 a.m. Chrism Mass and Clergy Renewal of Vows. On March 27, Holy Wednesday, there will be a 7 a.m. Holy Communion and at 8 p.m. the Tenebrae Mass. On March 28, Maundy Thursday services will include a 10 a.m. prayer and a 7 p.m. Holy Communion. On Good Friday, March 29, services will held at noon, and from 1:15-3 p.m. the cathedral is open for prayer and silent reflection; at 5:30 p.m. for Stations of the Cross. At 7 p.m., the Community Ecumenical Procession of the Cross begins in front of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple, and ends inside the Cathedral Church of St. Mark. On March 30, Holy Saturday, there will be service at 9 a.m. Holy Saturday Service and the Great Easter Vigil will begin at 8 p.m. On Easter, March 31, services will be held 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Southeast Christian Church will offer a Good Friday service March 29 at 7 p.m. On Easter, March 31, there will be a breakfast at 9:30 a.m., an Easter egg hunt at 10:15 a.m. for children preschool to fourth grade, and an Easter celebration service at 10:45 a.m.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will hold Holy Week events starting March 24 with Palm Sunday services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Holy Thursday services will be March 28 at 7 p.m. Good Friday, March 29, will start with Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m. and liturgy of the Lord's Passion at 7 p.m. The Easter Vigil will be held March 30 at 8:30 p.m. On Easter, March 31, services will be at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The Procession of the Cross will start at 7 p.m. in front of the Cathedral of Madeleine. Easter, March 31, will feature two worship gatherings at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

St. Ambrose Catholic Church will start its Easter week services on Holy Thursday, March 28, with Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7 p.m. (after-Mass adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 11 p.m.) Good Friday, March 29, will start with the Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m. and liturgy at 7 p.m. Holy Saturday will start with a Blessing of Easter Food Baskets (in Polish) at 3:30 p.m. and an Easter Vigil with Sacraments of Initiation at 8 p.m. On Easter, Mass will be at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (in Polish).

"8" — Putting Fear and Prejudice on Trial

The South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society will sponsor readings of this new docudrama, by Dustin Lance Black, based on the events surrounding California's Proposition 8. This reading will be presented by students and alumni from Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University.

St. John's Anglican Church Easter Week Services

St. John's Anglican Church will begin its Easter week services on Palm Sunday, March 24, with a service at noon and a prayer service at 7 p.m. On March 28, the Maundy Thursday liturgy will be at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 29, from noon-3 p.m. there will be music, readings and prayers, and 7 p.m. will be the liturgy. Services will be held on Easter, March 31, at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. An Easter egg hunt will follow the 10:30 a.m. worship.
