Millcreek Grill opens

Millcreek Grill and Bar is a new place to enjoy American comfort food and a local beer. The menu at this neighborhood restaurant includes appetizers, salads, soups, hamburgers, sandwiches and entrées including steak, barbecue ribs and grilled salmon. Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays. The restaurant has a full-service liquor license which means wines, local beers and specialty drinks are available. And if some of the faces look the familiar, it's because manager Michael Le Prey, chef Whitney Woodward and beverage manager Dustin Stein have a combined 60 years' experience in the restaurant business.

City Dogs wins food truck award

City Dogs, a Salt Lake City street cart that specializes in vegetarian and vegan food, was named the Best Vegan Food Truck in the country by peta2, the youth division of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.) The Utah food cart beat trucks from Los Angeles, Austin and Chicago for the Libby Award, which was based, in part, on an online vote. Fans of City Dog, which is closed for the winter season, love the cart's chili cheese Dee Dog as well as the signature City Dog, topped with jalapeños, tomatoes, and pickled asparagus. In all, peta2 gave its annual Libby Awards — short for animal liberation — in 22 different categories from best vegan snack to best dairy alternative.
