Cultural confidential's 3-way smackdown

SB Dance presents a panel about the intersections between dance and performance. Artistic director Stephen Brown will be joined by Charlotte Boye-Christensen, the artistic director of Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, and multi-media artist Gary Vlasic. Each will be screening a video clip as a jumping-off point for a conversation with the audience.

A 'Time Capsule' of dance

Repertory Dance Theatre presents "Time Capsule," a multimedia guided tour through a 100-year legacy of dance, with works tied to the social and political environment in which they were created. The show also pays homage to the inventive spirit of legendary 20th-century choreographers, such as Merce Cunningham, Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey and Michio Ito.

'Swan Lake'

The University of Utah's Utah Ballet presents three acts of "Swan Lake," under the direction of artistic director Jay Kim and associate director Victoria Stocki. The two have a combined 23 years of performing the Mariinsky Theatre's version of the famed ballet and have worked to create costumes and staging true to the original.
