Thaifoon-Taste of Asia at The Gateway closed its doors on Sunday, Sept. 30, according to a news release issued Monday morning.
The management company said it is focusing energy on other brands and noted that the Utah location was its only Thaifoon-Taste of Asia still in operation. The restaurant, which opened in March, 2003, is working to find other jobs for its employees.
While that's bad news for those shopping/working at the north end of The Gateway, there is some good news on the horizon over on the south end near the movie theatres. Construction on the new La Jolla Groves restaurant seems to be moving along on the street level next to Costa Vida. The Utah-County based restaurant is expected to open soon.
