Books & Bites — 'Seeking Sicily'

Harmons and Weller Book Works kick off "Books and Bites," a new food and travel book series, featuring a chef and local author. For the Sept. 22 event, chef Evan Francois will prepare merende (Italian small bites) to complement the words of Seeking Sicily by John Keahey, a former Salt Lake Tribune reporter and editor. Keahey has authored three books on Italy and is working on a fourth on Tuscany. Sicilian wine pairing included, non-alcoholic beverages available.

A pairing of food and art

The relationship between food and culture will be explores in the art exhibit, "Fare." Artists were asked to think about how food is characteristic of their culture, said Margaret Hunt, director of Utah Arts & Museums. The exhibit features works by Martin Blundell, Sam Wilson, Trent Call, Dorothee Martens, Anthony Siciliano, Shami Kanekar, Fahime Amiri, Kim Martinez and Joe Ostraff.
