Somewhere between "The Hangover" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" lies "Klown," a scathingly funny and socially unacceptable comedy expanded from a popular Danish TV show.
Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen write (with director Mikkel Nørgaard) and star as variations of themselves, as nerdy Frank learns his girlfriend, Mia (Mia Lyhne), is pregnant — and he decides to prove his "father potential" by kidnapping Mia's 12-year-old nephew, Bo (Marcuz Jess Petersen), to join Casper on a canoe trip that's really an opportunity to visit an exclusive cathouse.
The best jokes come from the awkward byplay between Frank and Casper, as the former's hesitancy and the latter's horndog enthusiasm lead them into increasingly bad behavior that makes the sex-crazed antics of "The Hangover" movies look like a Disney release.
