Frozen summer treats Day 9: Tart frozen yogurt
Day 9 » LunaBerry’s tart frozen yogurt
First Published Aug 08 2012 06:19 pm • Last Updated Aug 10 2012 09:17 am

Throughout the month of August, Tribune writers are tasting our way through some of Utah’s finest frozen confections including ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt and shaved ice to help us beat the heat and satisfy a sugar rush. Today’s pick:

Tart frozen yogurt • This plain nonfat frozen treat has the sweetly sour taste of unadorned plain yogurt but with none of the sugary/artificial flavors added to other fro-yos. Tart yogurt is an acquired taste, but with fresh fruit toppings, these bowls are full of probiotic goodness and can actually make the claim that they are good for you — and your digestive system.

Shop talk • This eatery’s other signature delights include a mango chicken crêpe, a strawberry-banana smoothie and, most notable, the Nutty Nutella Crêpe, a favorite snack overseas but frustratingly difficult to find in the states.
