DVD • While her older sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley appear on red carpets, Elizabeth Olsen is proving herself one of our most fascinating young actresses.
Last year, she was stellar as a cult survivor in "Martha Marcy May Marlene," and on Tuesday her effective turn in the chiller "Silent House" arrives on DVD. Olsen plays Sarah, a young woman helping her dad (Adam Trese) and uncle (Eric Sheffer Stevens) renovate a rickety old house where something starts to terrify Sarah.
Directors Chris Kentis and Laura Lau ("Open Water") ratchet up the thrills in what appears to be a single unbroken take, bringing out the terror of the tale through Olsen's fear-filled face.
