DVD review: 'Wanderlust' strays happily from script

GRADE • B

DVD • It's almost possible, and probably desirable, to ignore the "young couple" that lands in a commune in the center of "Wanderlust" — except to note that 40ish stars Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd should stop playing members of a "young couple."

Better to watch how director David Wain ("Role Models," "Wet Hot American Summer") lets his supporting cast — such as Ken Marino, Joe Lo Truglio and Kerri Kenney-Silver, many of them his pal from "The State" and "Stella" — riff on the action from the fringes.

The jokes have a pleasantly loose, ad-libbed feel, which is enforced by the disc's extra "Bizarro Cut," which boasts different jokes in every scene. —
