Dining news and notes: Beer winners and 'Taste of Ogden'

Utah brewers brought home 27 medals — including 10 gold — from the Mountain Brewers Beer Festival recently in Idaho Falls.

Desert Edge, Salt Lake • Downhill Dunkelweizen (gold); and Pub Pils (bronze).

Epic, Salt Lake • Brainless on Cherries, Utah Sage Saison and Imperial Stout (gold); Brainless Belgian and Double Skull Doppelbock (silver); and Straight Up Saison (bronze)

Red Rock, Salt Lake • Paardebloem, Secal, Munich Dunkel and Blonde Ale (gold); Rauch Bier and Nut Brown Ale (silver)

Ruby River, Ogden • Salt Lake Steamer rye beer (bronze)

Uinta, Salt Lake • Round Dubhe (gold); 19th Anniversary Barley Wine, Hoodoo and Cutthroat (silver)

Utah Brewers Coop, Salt Lake • Provo Girl Pilsner, Wasatch Summerbrau and Captain Bastard Stout (silver); Squatters IPA, Big Cottonwood and Wasatch Polygamy Porter (bronze)

Wasatch, Park City • Fiesta Lager (gold); and Apricot Hefeweizen (bronze)

Taste of Ogden

Several Ogden restaurants will offer samples of their best creations during "Taste of Downtown" tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Union Station. The event is part of the Ogden Arts Festival. Tickets are $10.
