Video game » Mario and his merry band of Nintendo misfits return to center court in "Mario Tennis Open," this time in eye-popping 3-D for the Nintendo 3DS portable system. All the wackiness of past Mario Tennis games are there, including a multiplayer mode that allows you to play against others on the Internet, but this time it comes with 3-D visuals that work well as long as you look straight into the 3DS. It’s also got a well-designed game play scheme that makes hitting crazy shots with little difficulty. Unfortunately, the 3-D image doesn’t work when you decide to use the system’s accelerometer to move your player, but that’s a small consolation if you decide to instead move with the joystick. Overall, this is a fun and infectious game.
